Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays are based in downtown Toronto.
Founded in 1976, the Toronto Blue Jays began play in 1977 at Exhibition Stadium, a venue that no longer exists. In 1989, they moved to a new facility called SkyDome, whose name changed in 2005 to Rogers Centre. They have played regular season and post-season games at that venue ever since.
The Toronto Blue Jays won the Major League Baseball "World Series" championship in 1992 and 1993, the only two times that they have ever participated in the Series. They became the first, and so far only, team based outside the United States to ever win a World Series.
With the move of the Montreal Expos to Washington DC in 2005, the Toronto Blue Jays are also currently the only MLB team to be based outside of the United States.
